Crushed

It wasn't unexpected.....they had discussed it and she had agreed to "give it a try"!!!!
He had spent most of the day fussing with his dress and makeup and practicing his curtsy....but he was so nervous.....what if she laughed at him....he wasn't sure he could withstand it.....
And then it was time.....she came in the door and he greeted her as a proper maid should....dropping a curtsy ant taking her things....
He watched her face.....he couldn't tell what she was thinking at all as she stood silently staring at him.....
Finally she smiled softly and told him to serve her a glass of wine in the bedroom....
It was exactly what he had hoped he would hear.....thank god she hadn't rejected him....
One word could have crushed him......but now it looked like a bright new future had just opened for both of them!!!!!
